Every time I work on this play, I have the feeling of coming home. Odd for a show about traveling. I also have the feeling of going on a journey. How wonderful it is to go on that journey with people I consider to be my home.
I think about the past two productions of this play I've done. I am delightfully reminded of observing people in the audience reading Mark while watching the presentation and being moved by the interpretation. I am most mindful of those who approached us afterwards saying how the Gospel was made real to them; it was no longer just words.
This year in preparation for directing & during rehearsals I've gone through these 'words' again.
So many things have captured my attention. But of all these things, what impacted me the most was that He never taught without the use of a parable or a story. He taught in stories to educate, to inspire, to bring Hope, Truth, Joy. To bring Himself.
This is the goal of Masquer Ministries.
Our prayer tonight is that you travel away from this place challenged, uplifted, and with a new understanding.
